My Purpose
Many years ago I read a book by Mark Levin. It was titled "Men In Black". Although I have voted Republican all my life, that book changed my perspective in politics. It opened my eyes to the Agenda of the Left, and how they have slowly and patiently promoted socialism and injected progressive philosophies into the very fabric of our lives. They have infiltrated and propagandized the media, taken God out of our public schools and indoctrinated our children against parents, destroyed the family structure and made millions dependent on the government for everything possible.
I knew then that this path would lead to the total destruction of the greatest nation on earth. I read everything Mr. Levin wrote, as well as other great thinkers, including Walter Williams, and Thomas Sowell. I became an information junkie. When Glenn Beck showed us how to "follow the money" and see how this was trickling down and spreading the Leftist agenda into our lives, it pretty much set my hair on fire. I've been a chronic student of life in general and politics has been my passion.
I'm a fixer. I have been one all my life. When I see a problem, I morph into "fix-it mode". There is no shortage of opportunities in Dallas County to kick into "fix-it mode". Beginning with accepting the nomination for president of Lake Highlands Republican Women, we began disseminating information on a much larger scale and spreading the word to get involved and be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. Our voter apathy is appalling in Dallas County. When Former County Chairman Wade Emmert asked that I run for SREC in 2016 I was curious why, until I came to realize that the then current titleholder was very inactive. I didn't win but I only lost by 13 votes. I didn't give up. Surrender is not in my vocabulary. Upon my ultimate election in 2018 at the State Convention, I joined 3 committees: Legislative Priorities, Party Organization and Engagement. When I was re-elected in 2020, I rejoined the Legislative Priorities and Party Organization committees. All three of those committees have served me well, as I learned so much from those 4 years of to help be a "Fixer" in Dallas County. I've used my SREC hat to keep many in SD-16 aware and informed of upcoming elections, legislation, how to contact our State elected officials and how to make a difference in Dallas County.
Realizing our previous lack of party structure in Dallas County and how the grassroots are so important has set out my many goals for SD-16 and and all over Dallas County. My vision has no boundaries. Recruiting and training precinct chairs, vice-chairs and block captains, how the City of Dallas and Commissioners Court agendas and meetings are important and how to sign up to speak in front of those meetings. All of these things have triggered my "fix-it mode". We get the government in which we participate, and my mission is to have every voter engaged for change in Dallas County. Dallas County did not turn blue overnight and it won't return to red overnight either. This is a long term project.
"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it, and then hand it on to them with the well fought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same. And if you and I don't do this, then you and I may well spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it once was like in American when men were free." Ronald Reagan, 1961
Help me keep the momentum going. I humbly and respectfully ask for your endorsement and your vote at our Republican Party of Texas Convention in Houston on June 16-18.
We have much more work to do.
"Ain't nothing going to break my stride; ain't nothing going to slow me down. Oh no...I've got to keep on moving." Sounds like a song to me...and a plan.
